Barry's Relatively Speaking: Blood Will Tell
Posted on Jul 15, 2012
Barry's Relatively Speaking shares the personal experiences and stories of genealogists found in the Everton Genealogical Helper Magazine collection on MyGenShare.com. Mary shares the following experience.
Julie, the daughter of the gifted Port Arthur florists, is now 12. One day when she was a bit younger, she slightly skinned herself in the Garrisons' swimming pool.
She was bleeding a little, but her mother thought that she was more concerned about it than the injury merited. "Are you hurt?" Mrs. Garrison asked.
"No, no," Julie said. "But you know I'm half Irish and half German, and I'm losing all my blood—and now I won't know what nationality I am!"
