Barry's Relatively Speaking: Cousins Reunited

Posted on Dec 05, 2012

Barry's Relatively Speaking shares the personal experiences and stories of genealogists found in the Everton Genealogical Helper Magazine collection on Dorothy shares the following experience.

In your Free Help column, July-August 1984, Marion J. Thomas offered a book titled, The Poetical Works of Alice and Phoebe Cary.

As I was the lucky recipient of the book of the poems by my cousins, Mrs. Thomas is also forwarding the letters of inquiry for me to answer.

Among the requests for the book was one from Mrs. Carolyn Hasson England. She and her husband Kenny England were among my closest friends from childhood. (I introduced them). I had lost track of them when they retired and moved to Oregon.

Imagine our surprise when, not only were we reunited, but discovered we were cousins through the Cary line.

Our Thanks to the Genealogical Helper and Mrs. Thomas.
